Most people will be flattered.Clare told me that she walked right up to an executive vice president in her organization whom she admired and simply asked,"will you mentor me?" he said yes. They established a formal mentoring relationship with monthly meetings and telephone calls.Sometimes,he would set an agenda for their talks by suggesting books or articles for her to read and then they would discuss them.Other times,They would discuss any items that came up during their conversation.Clare has benefited greatly from his experience and wisdom

Develop the relationship

The opposite of a formal mentoring connection is when a relationship develops over time usually with less structure.This can happen when you interact with someone,you ask him or her questions,solicit advice,follow their suggestions, and over time an informal mentoring relationship can develop.This was the way my relationship with jon Falk developed.
