Resumes and Cover letters

A Friend Called Tosay that his company had an innediate and urgent opening for someone with my skills and background. he knew i was Unsatisfied With my Current Position and asked me to E-mail Him my resume ASAP. I couldn't Because my resume wasn;t up-to-date.My Girl friend Who helped me with my last one was away on a business trip and my resume was on her computer. by the time i redid my resume , the job was filled.

Here Are Some Suggestion

Keep Your resume UP to date:

I m Always amazed at the number of people who say they are looking for a new career opportunity and yet when i ask to see their resume, they admit they don't have a current one ready and waiting. "then you are not seriously looking," i tell them. in today's job market, you need to be prepared to act quickly

if uou are not the world's best resume write, why not find and hire someone who is?

Keep your resume Simple

Hiring managers and recruiters tell me that you don't need a four page resume to be impressive . in fact, you may be more impressive if you can show your stuff ona one-to one and a half page resume

Don't lie

If you are sending your Resume electronically ,know the correct foemat to use. Also Be aware that if you are posting your resume on an electronic bulletin board or website, others may see it including your boss or co-workers

Target the cover letter to the specific job:

while your resume is a look at your general career history and accomplishments , a cover letter is your opportunity to list or elaborate upon specific achievements, talents and contributions as they apply to specific jobs you're applying for. But keep it brief- this isn't the place to give your full history

Use thr Proper Salutation:

always err on the site of formality.sear Mr.sumon or Dear Ms Amena , if you don't have aname, use a non-gender specific term such as Dear recruiter or Dear Company Representative. Recruiters have told me they Have thrown away letters that started " Dear Sir"

Convey Confidence:

you don't want to be a braggart, but if you're not going to write well of yourself, who will? you always want to be honest and direct but you should be confident and enthusiastic as well. As my references will tell you I'm an extremly hard working person. i take pride in my work.

Make both youe resume and cover letter perfect:

no types or errors.A clean layout and readable design. hiring managers look at them as an indication of your writing and communication skills.and whether or not you pay attention to the details

Use a good Quality Bond paper in a neutral colour:

The Envelope should match as well
